Corporal in semi-formal parade dress, Kenya Rifles, 1970

Headdress – Dark green beret with unit badge attached to the front left.

Shirt –Jungle green item with chest pockets and full length front opening. Sleeves rolled up to dissipate the heat. Green lanyard around the left shoulder, with the end tucked into the left pocket. On both sleeves are two black rank chevrons, on red backing material, reminiscent of the King’s African Rifles.

Equipment – Blackened British 1937 pattern webbing belt with brass attachments.

Legwear – Jungle greentrousers, with thigh pocket on the left leg, tucked into calf length combat boots.

Weapon – 7.62mm L1A1 Self Loading Rifle and bayonet.
