Bandsman in parade dress, Imperial Ottoman Navy, 1913

A unique uniform was worn by the band of the Navy, very different to the standard dress of the seamen.

Headdress Red fez with no badges attached. Black tassel hanging down the left side. This was the standard headdress of the Turkish forces.

Tunic Dark blue item with white plastron front, as used by a lancer. The cuffs are decorated with a white line. Attached to the shoulders are twisted white cords. Braided and single cords are slung between the ends of the shoulder cords as further decoration.

Brass buttons are used throughout.

I am unsure of the rear decoration of the tunic.

Legwear Blue trousers with a thick white stripe down the outer seams, worn with ankle boots.
